Welcome back! The VRC is hoping everyone had a wonderful, stress-free Holiday break. Whether resting up or being productive was your priority, we hope many of you got a chance to check out an exhibition or two while on break...

One that particularly stands out is the New Museum's mid-career survey of British artist Chris Ofili, who was a part of the Young British Artists group led by Damien Hirst that emerged in the 1990's. It was only a couple of months ago that we uploaded dozens of pieces by members of the Yong British Artists group, including artworks by Ofili; however, after seeing this show in person and acquiring the exhibition catalog, we will certainly be adding more.

The show runs until January 25th, so there's still a bit of time for you to check it out! If not, rest assured the Library already has the New Museum exhibition catalog (pictured left) and we will leave you with a link to a great review of the exhibition in the New York Times, by art critic Roberta Smith [with fantastic installation and exhibition images]: Medium and Message, Both Unsettling.
