The SVA Library has an ongoing subscription to Flipster, a digital magazine solution for reading complete digital versions of magazines online and via a mobile app. It's available to all SVA students, faculty and staff, and is a great reading option for NYC commuters! For the 2019-20 school year, some of the titles we subscribe to have changed. Read on for a full list and access instructions!

The library subscribes to 38 magazine titles in Flipster:
3x3, Aesthetica, Animation, Aperture, Art in America, Artforum International, The Atlantic, Bitch, Bon Appetit, Bookforum, Bust, Comics & Gaming, Communication Arts, Computer Arts, Creative Quarterly, Ebony, Elephant, Empire, Entrepreneur, Fast Company, Film Comment, Frame, Gay & Lesbian Review, ImagineFX, Inc., Juxtapoz, Mother Jones, National Geographic, Nautilus, New Criterion, New York Review of Books, The New Yorker, Out, Paper, Rolling Stone, School Arts Magazine, Time, and Wired.

To read on your computer, visit the library's A-Z databases list, and click on Flipster. From off-campus, you'll be prompted to login with your MySVA credentials.

To read in the Flipster mobile app, download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, and open the app. Then, locate the School of Visual Arts and tap LOG IN. SVA's login credentials can be obtained by emailing

Voila! You're automatically taken to SVA's digital magazine subscriptions. Download the issues you want to read and they'll be saved in My Shelf for future reading.
