All summer, the SVA Library is shining the spotlight on LGBTQ Cinema. Come check out our full bay display of over thirty films and revel in some of the finest cinema ever set to celluloid, including such Queer classics as Sally Potter's gender-swapping Orlando, adapted from the Virginia Woolf novel; the coming-of-age tale, My Beautiful Laundrette, adapted by Hanif Kureishi from his own novel; Dee Rees' contemporary classic, Pariah, which has earned accolades for its earnest depiction of the travails of slowing learning to embrace one's identity. And Carol, Todd Haynes' masterpiece of lesbian cinema and a film that has already earned a devoted cult following. Below are trailers for all four films:
